Redding Area
Redding is one of the most scenic and unique communities in all of California -- nestled between mountain lakes, along the banks of the Sacramento River. It is found in the northeastern corner of Northern California, 160 miles north of Sacramento, in the heart of Shasta County.
The surrounding terrain ranges in elevation from 500 to 5,000 feet. Shasta County enjoys the four seasons, providing the bounty of fall color, mild winters and an array of spring-time beauty. It is surrounded by three spectacular mountain ranges, on the east, west and north.

The Climate: Shasta County is where the sun shines the most. Redding, receives 88% more sunny days than any other metropolitan city in the nation, surpassed only by Yuma, Arizona. Annual rainfall averages 38.6 inches and occurs between November and March, 50% of which occurs during the months of January and February.

The community that is virtually free from gang violence due to the strong partnerships that have been developed with local law enforcement agencies. The County takes great pride in the education students are receiving.
